CookSafe

Helping keep the Cook Islands safe from COVID-19.

Implemented and maintained by the Chamber of Commerce, the CookSafe contact tracing system consists of two separate but complementary contact tracing tools – our CookSafe QR cards, which people use to tag-in at different locations around the Cook Islands; and the CookSafe+ app, which once downloaded to your smartphone creates an anonymous record of people you have been near, allowing for COVID-19 alerts should an outbreak occur.

In the event of an outbreak, health ministry Te Marae Ora will use the data provided by our CookSafe card tag-ins and the CookSafe+ app to help trace both the locations a COVID-19 case has visited and the people they have been in close contact with over a given period of time.

If you would like to register for your own personal CookSafe QR card, find out more about the CookSafe+ app, or if you’re a business or other organisation wanting to sign up for a CookSafe QR card scanner, contact Peka Fisher at the Chamber.
